The Adoptee Story Initiative

Welcome to TASI!
(The Adoption Story Initiative)

TASI is a research project dedicated to collecting stories about adoption from adoptees who were adopted as babies between 1945-1973.  Some of the questions this project asks are the following;
What are the stories adoptees heard as children about their adoption?
What are the stories adoptees heard about the reasons their parents adopted?
What are the stories adoptees tell about reunion?

Core Beliefs
  1. It is the right of individuals who are adopted to have access to their accurate and original birth records.
  2. It is the right of adopted persons to decide whether or not "reunion" is in their best interest.
Mission
The mission of TASI (The Adoptee Story Initiative) is to collect and represent stories from adults who were adopted as infants in the United States between 1945 through 1973.
